Information Next handles
Your workspace and app data
Next accesses the folder you choose as a workspace and reads, creates, and updates Markdown task files there. This can include task titles, project names, schedules, and other information you put into the files. Next also stores app preferences and conversation history locally on your device. If you select an iCloud Drive folder, Apple’s iCloud service may sync those files according to your Apple account settings.
API keys
If you configure a third-party AI provider, your API key is stored in the device Keychain. We do not receive or operate a server for your API key.
Calendar and notifications
With your permission, Next reads calendar events to show busy time in its schedule. It does not use calendar access to modify your events. If you enable notifications, task reminders are scheduled locally by the operating system.
Optional AI features
Next may use on-device intelligence where supported. It also supports Apple-managed AI and Bring Your Own Key integrations with OpenAI, Anthropic, and Google Gemini. When you explicitly select one of these optional cloud services, the messages and workspace context needed to fulfill your request may be sent directly to that provider. The provider’s own privacy policy and terms govern its handling of that information. We do not operate an AI proxy or receive a copy of these requests.
You control this choice in the app’s AI settings. Do not configure a cloud provider if you do not want task or conversation context sent to that provider.
What we do not collect
Next does not require account registration and does not collect your workspace data, calendar data, API keys, or conversation content on developer-operated servers. It does not use advertising SDKs or developer-operated analytics.
Retention, deletion, and your choices
Your workspace content remains in the folder you selected until you change or delete it. You can revoke Next’s folder, Calendar, or notification permissions at any time in system settings. You can remove API keys in Next’s settings and delete local app data by removing the app, subject to the storage and backup behavior of your device and any service you chose, such as iCloud Drive.
For cloud AI requests, you must manage retention or deletion with the provider you selected. We do not retain those requests because we do not receive them.
Children
Next is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy when Next’s data practices change. The effective date above will be updated with each revision. Material changes will be reflected in the app or on this page before they take effect where required.
